Intercontinental, Brisbane
Brisbane QLD. Australia

The Private Cancer Physicians of Australia (PCPA) in collaboration with LifeStrands, is holding the 2026 Precision Oncology Workshop: From Genomics to Therapeutics, on Saturday February 14th at the Intercontinental Hotel, Brisbane. We expect 80-100 health professional attendees from the medical oncology, genetics and pathology fields.

As you are aware, the PCPA is a dynamic not-for-profit member-based, oncology specialist organisation that aims to make high impact policy change for private practice, education and in delivering to patients the latest innovative treatments, diagnostics and world-class clinical trials. Our membership includes over 500 leading clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals and researchers in medical oncology, haematology and radiation oncology, and your support will help us ensure world-class cancer care and diagnostics is prioritised by those decision makers who can, and will, make the difference to the lives of those most vulnerable of Australians.

Proposed Agenda and Attendees

The Workshop is made available in collaboration with our partner LifeStrands, with the agenda spanning the entire day – 8 hours of interactions, lectures, case studies and workshops.

The content of the day includes

  • an introduction to basics of the human genome, types of mutations and gene fusions
  • molecular testing; pharmacogenomics; liquid biopsy
  • how to select the most appropriate molecular test
  • the role of CGP and ingredients of a molecular report. This will be followed in the afternoon by case studies which will be an interactive session with the audience including case examples.

The speakers and audience will include a selection of leading Australian anatomical pathologists, medical oncologists, molecular biologists and scientists.

Our Precision Oncology Workshop, from Genomics to Therapeutics, is the destination event for oncology health professionals and those who are interested in the latest diagnostics, oncogenic mutations and their associated treatments.

Our first two workshops in 2024 and 2025 were oversubscribed and we expect the same level of interest for the 2026 workshop.
