“Renal Cell Carcinoma: An Evolving Treatment Landscape”
The Private Cancer Physicians of Australia (PCPA) recently held a webinar on Renal Cell Carcinoma: An Evolving Treatment Landscape. Dr Alison Zhang spoke on the current landscape, and Dr Chun Gan discussed neoadjuvant treatment and future directions and presented a case study. The meeting finished with practical case presentations from Dr Laurence Krieger, and Professor Howard Gurney. The meeting was well attended, with Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Fellows, and Advanced Trainees in attendance.
In the words of Meeting Chair and PCPA Board Member Dr Patti Bastick :
“The treatment landscape for renal cell carcinoma has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years. What was once a disease with limited treatment options and a sobering prognosis is now becoming increasingly manageable. Advances in targeted therapies and immunotherapy have revolutionized our approach, allowing us to achieve better outcomes and improve the quality of life for our patients. We’re witnessing a shift from primarily focusing on tumour shrinkage to extending overall survival and enhancing patients’ well-being. It’s an exciting time to be involved in this field, and the future holds even greater promise.”
